Grade 8 Activity Days - Tues. October 3rd and Wed. October 4th

This year, Hugh Boyd Secondary School will be running Grade 8 Activity Days on Tuesday October 3rd and Wednesday October 4th.  The purpose of these days is to establish a cohesive, unified group that will learn and grow throughout their five years together.  Activities will be centered around team building, communication skills, recreation, and creating new friendships as well as strengthening old ones.  Activities will occur within the regular school day as follows:

Tuesday, October 3rd – Richmond Oval

-8:20 am – students go to Period 1 class

-9:15 am – students embark on bus to Richmond Oval

-9:45 am – 1:30 pm – students engage in team building, skating, and Olympic Experience activities

-1:45 pm – students return to school

***waiver for Richmond Oval must be completed

***students to bring their own lunch or money to purchase a lunch

Wednesday, October 4th – Hugh Boyd SS

-this is an early release day and school ends at 12:49 pm; students will participate in school-based activities from 8:30 am – noon, followed by a pizza lunch

The cost for the Activity Days is $30.00 per student (payable by cash or cheque made out to Hugh Boyd Secondary School) which includes bus transportation and activities at the Richmond Oval (including skates and helmet) on the first day, pizza on the second day, and an activity t-shirt.  We want to encourage all Grade 8’s to attend, as this will be a wonderful opportunity to be together for two days of fun activities.  Please complete the following 3 forms and return to the school with payment by Friday, September 29th:

  1. Parent Consent and Waiver Form
  2. Student Acknowledgement of Risk
  3. Richmond Olympic Oval Corporation Waiver and Release of Liability Form
