  • Ordered a Boyd hoodie this year? Well they have arrived! Pick up your hoodie in the lounge at lunch today to stay nice and toasty in this frigid weather.

 

  • Attention Gr. 10’s: The Graduation Numeracy Assessment (GNA) is January 23rd and 24th. Please refer to the Hugh Boyd website for your scheduled time organized by last name. Also, January 14th and 21st are GNA PLT sessions in Lab 218 and 219. These are mandatory tutorials on how to do the GNA. These are organized by last name as well and are on the website. Students who have not written the GNA in grades 11 and 12 may attend the PLTs. Refer to the website for your writing.

 

  • Attention grade 11 & 12 students!  Have you ever been curious about exploring a career in a skilled trade?  If the answer is “yes” then you are encouraged to apply for Richmond School District’s one-week (4 days) Skilled Trade Exploration Program in the spring.  Choose from Plumber, Joiner, Carpenter, Electrician, HVAC or a combo.  See your Counsellor or Career Advisor for more details and an application.  Deadline to submit application to the Careers Program Office at Cambie Secondary is 4pm Jan 30th.

 

  • Attention grade 12's interested in a career in law enforcement.  The RCMP is offering to send select grade 12 students to their training academy in Saskatchewan for a FREE, ALL EXPENSES PAID, 5 day experience over spring break.​  Students engage in activities such as fitness, drill, driving simulations, police defensive tactics, etc.  Deadline to apply is Jan 31/20.  Visit the RCMP website and look under Student National Youth Engagement Week for how to apply.  See your counsellor or career advisor if you require assistance.

 

  • Attentions students who've applied to BCIT or who are interested in applying.  A representative will be setting up a table in the main hall, Monday Jan 20th at lunch, to answer questions about programs, the admission process and more.  If you have questions about BCIT, now is the time to get the answers!
