SD 38: Letter from Superintendent of Schools (re: Coronavirus)

Please note the following recommendations from the Provincial Health Officer:

The Provincial Health Officer has recommended that students or staff returning from Hubei Province, China should consider staying home for 14 days after leaving Hubei. It is important to note that this revised position does not provide the school district with the authority to require parents to keep their children at home. Ultimately, individual parents will make decisions about their child’s health and their attendance at school. A new toll-free phone number (1 833 784-4397) has been established to answer questions from Canadians about the 2019 novel coronavirus. Service is available from 7 a.m. to midnight EST. Anyone who is concerned they may have been exposed to, or are experiencing symptoms of, the coronavirus should contact their primary care provider, local public health office, or call 8-1-1.

Please find a detailed letter from the Richmond School District Superintendent of Schools and the Provincial Health Officer (in English and Chinese) on the coronavirus attached below.
