We hope that Hugh Boyd families and students enjoyed a nice long weekend. The purpose of this correspondence is to provide further information regarding this week’s Orientation Days on Thursday, September 10 and Friday, September 11.
This orientation is very important for students as we will be reviewing a number of Health and Safety protocols including the daily health declaration process, entry points, mask distribution and rules for use, and physical distancing.
We will also be distributing face masks to each of our students and staff; masks MUST be worn when students are in high traffic areas and unable to maintain distance from others (i.e. hallways and common areas).
In addition, we will explain in more detail the new quarter system and how students will be scheduled to attend Boyd (i.e. starting on Monday, September 14, Grade 8 and 9 students come in every day from 9:30 - 2:45; Grade 10, 11, and 12 students come in for either a morning block 9:15 - 11:40 or an afternoon block 12:35 - 3:00).
Homeroom Orientation Sessions have been assigned by alpha last name, with 15 or less students in a classroom during this session. Students in the Combined Studies classrooms will report to Rooms 124 and 125. Students in the life skills resource program are to report to Room 130.
For the orientation sessions, students are to enter through the front main doors of the school. Students are encouraged to leave the school once the orientation sessions have finished. Any parents who are onsite should wait in their cars and not enter the school building.
We are very much looking forward to connecting with our students this week!
