Student Notices - Mar 2, 2021

  • Attention all Ms. Moss' Q2 Art 8 students: Please drop by the art room and pick up your POP art and MANDALA projects any day this week.

  • The winners of the Richmond Reading Riot weekly prize draws for the past two weeks are April K and Jasleen S. Come down to the library to claim your prize!  It’s not too late to take part.  The contest runs until April 1th. Choose one of the titles Read it, Rate It and Repeat!

  • Hello Trojans.  For anyone who missed out on ordering Hugh Boyd merchandise, the Hugh Boyd online store is reopened for a limited time!  Please visit the athletics page at https://trojansathletics.weebly.com/ (which can also be found on the Hugh Boyd website), under the “Online Store” tab.  Deadline for orders is March 17th .

  • Hey Trojans!  Please remember to return your overdue library books!  While the library does not charge late fees, we do want the books available for all students to enjoy. Just return them to the metal bin outside the library doors, and come on in to check out new materials!

  • While Black History Month has passed, the learning continues. We have had a great feedback regarding our ongoing quest for learning about the contributions of Black Canadians, so we are continuing the school activity this week. And we still have goodies to give away. Look for the pictures of notable Black Canadians that are posted around the school, and then come down to the library, or tell Ms Moss, Mr Naso, Mr Van Vugt, or Mrs Babecoff Kimhi what you learned about their contributions. You will be rewarded with a sweet treat. We encourage everyone to participate!

  • LAST CALL! Don’t miss out on your chance to purchase a 2021 Hugh Boyd Yearbook. The last day to pre-order your 2021 Yearbook is March 12, 2021.Cost is $40.00. Unfortunately, due to publishing timelines we will not be accepting any late orders.

  • Students may not be aware, there has been a new change in the way senior photo is offered at Boyd. Ms. Moss' 11/12 photo is offered next year outside of the regular timetable and will be primarily an online Boyd only course, with in -person support at lunch and after school on specific days to be determined once classes start.

  • Students interested in Band are also advised that we may be offering Concert Band 9-12 and Jazz Band 9-12 off-schedule, so interested students can access these courses without having to give up a spot in their timetable or a Core course.  If the enrollment proves sufficient, we will be offering Concert Band and Jazz Band at lunch and/or after school as “over and above” electives in addition to a full complement of in timetable courses.
