  • Students:  Do you have a library book that is past the due date?  Please renew or return it to the library ASAP so other students get a chance to take them out!  We don’t have late fines, so there is no excuse not to get them in! Or you will just get the dreaded Ms Leung-is-disappointed-with-you-visit, and honestly, no one wants that. Drop off your books in the bin outside the library-easy peasy.

  • April Poetry Month: Have you always wanted to channel your inner Shakespeare, Amanda Gorman, Shane Koyczan, or Beyonce?  Well now, here is your chance!  Bring out the rapper, songwriter, and poet in yourself during National Poetry Month!  Enter into the Richmond Public Library Teen Poetry Contest and submit your written word or spoken word form to teenblog@yourlibrary.ca to win gift certificates to Richmond Centre. Visit hughboydlibrary.ca or check out the flyers around the school for more info. As well, you can take part in lots of poetry activities in the library. Make your own haiku, limerick, or other poetic forms and get a chocolate treat. Take a poem and read it for your friends, or make your own masterpiece by stacking titles of books on top of each other to make a book spine poem.  Everyone and everyone can participate and have fun.  All contests run until the end of April!
