Student Notices - May 5, 2022

  • Boyd Biennale ( pronounced sort of like: Bee in alley ) is named after the world's most famous international art exhibit, the Venice Biennale.   Boyd's Biennale is happening on Wed May 18th from 6:30 -8pm. It is an in-person celebration of all the Fine Arts at Boyd. Music, Drama, and visual arts. If you are an art student from either semester and looking for a way to volunteer, see Ms.Moss as soon as you can to sign up and help. Service hours can be earned! There is work to do ahead of time getting art ready to display, in addition to special jobs during the event. Please plan to volunteer or just attend this fun in person event!


  • A huge congratulations to our Track and Field team who had MAJOR success at yesterday's track meet. Special shoutout to our athletes who will move on to the South Fraser Meet: Yulia B who placed 3rd in Long Jump, Kouken N who placed 1st in the 3000m run and Jet S who placed 3rd in the same run, Verena C who placed 2nd in high jump, and Trinity C who placed 1st in Javelin. Way to go Trojans!"


  • Do you need volunteer hours? Want to earn 8 hours in one day? Please sign up for volunteering at the Elementary Track meet on May 25th at Minoru. Sign up and permission packages will be outside the gyms at lunch. Let Mrs. Hayden know if you have any questions"


  • Senior Boys Basketball players: RETURN YOUR JERSEY ASAP. They are LONG over due.


  • Hey Gr 12s! Boat cruise is just a few weeks away. We need to sell enough tickets to make it happen. Please purchase your boat cruise ticket before May 13 on school cash online. If you buy your ticket by the end of this week, you will be entered in a raffle prize. WOO! If you are unsure if you have bought a ticket, or need more information on the event, please visit our instagram @hbgrads2022 and DM us. Grad boat cruise is on May 19th! Please buy your ticket!!


  • Hi grads! Valedictory is a month away!  If you forgot to submit your grad write up for the ceremony, please get it to Ms Leung or Mr Buhr by the end of this week.  No more than 30 words, and of course the write up needs to be appropriate.  It is what is said as you walk across the graduation stage!  Otherwise you will be extolling the virtues of Ms Leung and Mr Buhr as integral to your high school experience. 


  • This week is Mental Health Week in Canada, #Get Real about how to help. Before you weigh in, tune in. Find out more on the bulletin board outside the main washrooms on the first floor.  Also, check out the numerous resources on taking care of your mental health from the library learning commons.


  • Do you have overdue books?  Please make sure to return overdue books to the library, or if you need more time, you can renew them with no penalty. The library also has tons of new and exciting graphic novels, manga, and fiction novels-check them out! They are on display all around the Learning Commons. 


  • Attention Trojans, reminder that this Spirit week is Thursday be the Crazy Hair Day and Friday Sunglass Day.
