Food Studies 12

Course Description

This is an advanced course recommended for students with an interest in learning gourmet cooking or who are interested in a career in food services or the food industry. The course is planned around two main components: International Foods and Party Foods and Entertaining. It includes a study of different cultures and their cooking. As well, a study of eating habits, health issues, and diets are an integral part of the course. Labs are more student directed and are more advanced in meal preparation, food costing and presentation.
