Scholarships that require students to submit a Hugh Boyd online nominated scholarship request form by the posted deadline can access the form from this link: 

Scholarships noted below have an in-school Hugh Boyd deadline for students to submit required forms.  This provides staff time to decide on a candidate, which in turn allows the nominated student time to gather requisite materials to make a formal submission to the scholarship. 

Students interested in nominations are required to review the criteria of each scholarship carefully prior to submitting the online nominated scholarship request form or other documents.  Details can be found on the link provided for each scholarship.

Schulich Leader Scholarships In-school Nomination Request Deadline 
Schulich Leader Scholarships are entrance scholarships awarded to high school graduates enrolling in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) programs at one of the 20 Canadian partner universities. In order to become a Schulich Leader and receive the scholarship, you must first be selected/nominated by your high school as the Schulich Leader Nominee. Only one student is selected per school.  $100,000 scholarships are designated for students pursuing an engineering degree, and $80,000 scholarships are designated for students pursing a science,technology, or math degree.
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Graduate from high school in the 2021/2022 academic year
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Be entrepreneurial-minded and plan to enroll in STEM at one of the partner universities
Meet the following criteria:
  • Academic excellence AND Leadership charisma and creativity
  • Strong consideration will be given to students with financial need
  • Not intending to become a practicing physician and/or medical researcher (e.g. Doctore, Dentist, Nurse, Psychologist, Pharmacist, Optometrist, etc. 

THE BC EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP IN-SCHOOL NOMINATION DEADLINE
Awarded to 55 well-rounded high school graduates who have demonstrated service and leadership, both at school and in their communities, and who show aptitude for and commitment to their chosen career paths.
Successful recipients receive a $5,000 scholarship voucher from the Ministry of Education and Child Care that they can use to be reimbursed for tuition paid after they are attending a post-secondary institution that is designated by the Province of B.C. (i.e., approved for Canada Student Loans) or a program provider that is approved by the Industry Training Authority.
Students have five years to redeem their BC Excellence scholarship vouchers; an expiry date is printed on each voucher and extensions are not possible.

Eligibility requirements:

Students selected as conditional recipients of the BC Excellence scholarship must meet the following requirements by August 31 of their graduating year to be confirmed as a recipient and receive their scholarship voucher:
be eligible for a B.C. Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood Diploma);

Have the following final marks:

Minimum “B” average in grades 11 and 12 courses required for graduation
Minimum "B" (73% or above) in Language Arts 12
Minimum “B” average, no more than one "C+" (67% or above), and no marks lower than “C+” in courses that fulfill graduation requirements for Science 11 or 12, Math 11, and Social Studies 11 or 12
Note: Students may apply for both the BC Excellence scholarship and the Pathway to Teacher Education scholarship but they can only be awarded one. The Cmolik Foundation In-School Nomination Request Deadline
Are you a student graduating from a BC high school? Have you demonstrated a strong work ethic and tenacity in overcoming adversity and in achieving your goals? If so, we’d love to hear from you! Every year, we award up to 20 scholarships each with a maximum value of $40,000, paid over five years, to deserving students.  In order to be eligible for a TCF Scholarship, applicants must:
  • Be a current resident of BC
  • Have lived in Canada for at least 7 years
  • Be in Grade 12 or a recent secondary school graduate
  • Have demonstrated financial need
  • Have faced adversity
  • Plan to be a full-time student
  • Be ineligible for the BC Tuition Waiver Program (for former youth in care)
  • Use funding for a post-secondary institution or college
  • Be endorsed by their school principal
