On October 5, we recognize World Teachers’ Day and the important role teachers play in the lives of students across our district.

Every day, teachers create opportunities for students to discover new ideas, build confidence and develop the skills they need for the future. Through the relationships they build and the learning experiences they create, teachers help students feel supported, challenged and encouraged to grow.

World Teachers’ Day is an opportunity to recognize this work and the many ways teachers contribute to our schools and community. The impact of a teacher can stay with a student for many years, often shaping how they see themselves, their abilities and the possibilities ahead of them.

On behalf of the senior team and the Richmond Board of Education, I extend my sincere appreciation to all teachers across the district. Thank you for the care, knowledge and commitment you bring to students each day.
