In staff discussions, there was recognition that PLT could be an ideal time to provide workshops and presentations for a wide range of students. Whereas previously our school would book special presentations that may pull students from a specific class, PLT was seen as a dedicated time slot where these types of opportunities could be accessed.

During our trial period, CHIMO Community Services and Vancouver Coastal Health have offered workshops to interested students on a variety of topics such as healthy relationships and managing stress. Having a 65 minute block of time is proving to be beneficial to some of our community partners in carving out time for these special presentations.
