In order to help students get to know each other and feel more connected to the Hugh Boyd community, Grade 8 students had some lessons with "Tips for Success" on Friday, September 8th and September 15th. Following these lessons, we are planning a Grade 8 Activity Day for Friday, September 29th.  This day will include attending class for the first two period (B and A blocks), followed by a trip to Lucky 9 Lanes for 10-pin bowling and pizza lunch.  Bus transportation there and back will be provided. Students will also be given a "Grads of 2028" t-shirt. 

After being driven back to school, we will have a few fun ice-breaker activities, the students will write a "Letter to themselves" that they will get back in Grade 12, then we will have a BBQ dinner at approximately 6:00 PM.  After dinner, there will be a few more games and "getting to know you" activities followed by a Grade 8 dance!

Students will be able to go home to their families at approximately 9:00 PM for the long weekend.

We are hopeful that all Grade 8 students will participate in this fun day of building connections.  In order to offset some of the cost of this event, we are asking all families to pay $50 through School Cash Online ASAP. If there are financial issues that may prevent a child from participating, please contact Mr. Onukwulu. Please also see the attached information and a permission form that needs to be signed and returned to the school ASAP!

The permission forms and payment are due to the main office by September 21st, so please do not delay getting these forms submitted so we can plan accordingly.
