School Structure Survey
Dear Hugh Boyd Families,
Since March 2020, secondary schools in Richmond have adapted their organizational structures to meet Provincial Health Office mandated requirements due to the ongoing pandemic. During this time, secondary schools have been organized by online learning, cohort groupings within the quarter system, and the semester system. Eight of our ten secondary schools have included Personal Learning Time into their weekly schedules this school year.
Throughout the pandemic, we have hoped to return to the organizational structures that were previously in place. This would allow secondary schools to engage with their communities to consider possible changes moving forward. At the same time, the district will continue to be guided by the Provincial Health Office and the Ministry of Education for all health and safety requirements, which may impact decisions about secondary structures for the 2022-23 school year.
The purpose of this survey is to gather feedback/perspectives from students, parents, teachers, support staff, and administrators in relationship to their experiences with the secondary structures referenced above. This information will assist the collaborative decision-making processes that are an integral part of the Richmond School District, while remaining aligned with health and safety guidance from the Provincial Health Officer (PHO) and Ministry of Education.
We hope that you will take approximately 10 minutes of your time to participate in the secondary families’ survey (click this link). If parents have children in more than one secondary school, please only complete the survey one time. Every secondary school student will have the opportunity to complete the survey. Attached are two translated versions of the survey for families who read Punjabi or Traditional or Simplified Chinese.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your ongoing support of our school and your child’s learning.
Sincerely,
Jason Leslie
