Student Notices - Mar 8,2022

  • Attention Grade 12 students!  The Hugh Boyd Scholarship application is now open.  All grade 12's should apply as scholarships are not based soley on grades!  The online application form is found on the Hugh Boyd website under Students, Grade 12, Valedicatory Scholarships.  The deadline to submit your application is April 8th.  Don't miss it!

 

  • The winners of the most titles read for the Boyd Diversity Book Challenge the last two weeks are Nicholas  from Mr Aura’s class, and Vivaan from Ms Balaciano’s class.  The draw prize winners are Becky from Mr Liu’s block C class, and Jadin from Mr Van Vugt’s class. Congratulations, winners! Come down to the library to claim your prizes. You too can win a pizza party for your block C class and win individual gift certificates just from reading diverse books labelled Boyd BC. Come down to the library to find out more!

 

  • Today is International Women’s Day.  Women are most often disproportionately affected by devasting world events such as war, pandemics, and climate changes.  Women are also taking on more roles of leadership in changing the outcomes.  Find out more from the library, and read about amazing female leaders and protagonists in their own stories. 

 

  • March Career Program School Board Scavenger Hunt Poster is now up in the counselling and all students welcome to scan code and enter the contest!

 

  • Reminder to all badminton players: Badminton club is today after school in the old gym. Bring your rackets!

 

  • Do you like to go for runs or want to be a part of a team? Consider joining the High School Sun Run team! We practice every Saturday and meet at the Starbucks in Steveston at 9:30am. For more information, find Mrs. Hayden!

 

  • Track and Field signup is easy peasy this year! Just scan the QR code found by the gym or around the school and sign up! All grades are welcome!

 

  • Are you interested in trying out for the Girls soccer team? Find the QR code that's outside the gym or around school and sign up! Tryouts are this week on Wednesday and Thursday from 3:15-4:45pm on Turf Field Red. All grades are welcome!

 

  • Lego club is Wednesday at lunch! Meet us at the MakerSpace room and build something with us! Hope to see you there!
